I love shooting live music events, trying to capture the performers in their magical moments. Travel photography and landscapes are always challenging to capture the lighting and expanse of the scenery in a pleasing way. I am not against artistic embellishments of images with software either. Whatever fits the mood.
I have always loved photography. As a youngster, I remember being fascinated by the way a camera could capture a moment in time and freeze it forever. I just had to wait to get the film back from from the local Fotomat after being developed to see if I captured any magic. As I got older, I started to learn more about the technical aspects of photography, and learned darkroom processes. I would commandeer the upstairs bathroom for my darkroom. My sister and brothers were not to happy about that!
But more than anything, I love photography because it allows me to express my creativity. I love the feeling of taking a picture and capturing something that is truly beautiful or that tells a story. I love the way that photography can make me see the world in a new way.
